Projects / Jatil
Jatil was a freelance cover art project for a music video released in Nepal. The brief required creating a visual identity that captured the mood and energy of the music while appealing to the target audience. I handled everything from concept to final delivery.
I listened to the track multiple times to understand the emotional arc — tempo, instrumentation, and lyrical themes — then translated those elements into visual directions.
I created multiple mood boards exploring color palettes, typography treatments, and photographic styles that could match the energy of the music.
Using extensive Photoshop editing and compositing, I crafted the cover image — manipulating existing photos and adding visual effects to create something that felt both authentic and striking.
The client reviewed multiple drafts. Each iteration sharpened the composition, color balance, and typography until the visual felt aligned with the music's identity.
Delivered in multiple formats — YouTube thumbnail, social media crops, and print-optimized versions for promotional use.
Freelance work like Jatil taught me how to translate intangible emotions — music, feeling, story — into a static image that stops the scroll. Photoshop wasn't just a tool; it was the medium for storytelling.
